Thu, Aug. 10th, 2006, 11:43 am Oh boy
I haven't been on here in a loooong time. Let me see if I can recap.
June 4th - June 23rd Well we returned home late Friday night. We ended up having to stay an extra week due to one small thing. It's really funny. Get this! We're driving down the interstate after some fun in Springfield. We hit about 70mph and our rear tire and rim came off the Tahoe. NICE! No one else was involved in our little incident.
One thing this trip taught us, DO NOT EVER TRAVEL TO ILLINOIS WITH THE TAHOE AGAIN!!!! The last time we drove up there we hit a large deer, on the interstate, and it rolled down the side of the car. Fun fun!
I think someone fucked with our Tahoe while in Springfield. Nothing was wrong the entire drive there. Then as we were leaving Best Buy that's when things went wrong. I'm guessing it was done by someone who isn't too fond of people in the military. (We have Marine Corps plates on the Tahoe and a sticker.)
July 19th We found out that we're having a girl! WOO HOO! I've bought a bunch of cute little girl clothes. I'm so excited. Steve bought a new gun, a rifle, a few days later. He said he's going to teach Jaylin how to shoot and he's going to start him up in karate or something. He said he needs to protect his little sister. He even said, "I may hold him back a year in school so that they're in high school for a short time together. That, or we'll home school." LOL Already becoming over protective. He even wants me to plan out the "sex talk" that I'll have with her when she gets older. HAHA!
August 1st We traded in the Tahoe and got a 2003 Chevy Suburban Z71. It's so badass. I love it! We were trying to get a vehicle to help save on gas.....that didn't work. I noticed a loose tooth on Jaylin this day. (The bottom middle.) It fell out on the 2nd. He swallowed it. :(**** The tooth next to it is loose now. I don't think it's going to fall out for at least a couple of weeks.
****************************************************
Hmmm, we just found out a few days ago that we're most likely going to be stationed in New Orleans. I'm not very happy about it.....at all! But, it was there or Colorado and who wants to live there. OH! Steve got promoted to SSgt on the 8th. There back paying us to June since he was supposed to be promoted then. I'm so proud of him!
I'll post pics of my ultrasound and the car the next time I get the chance. Mon, Apr. 24th, 2006, 01:21 pm Go me!
As of April 7, 2006 I have not had a single cigarette. YAY! I did it cold turkey. Really not to hard considering I'm pregnant, suffering from morning sickness and really can't stomach one anyway.
I was tested this weekend though. Romeo (my brother), Bri and baby Romeo came to visit. They both smoke and were not helpful at all. They kept offering me cigs and seeing them smoke was driving me nuts. But I must say, now that I've quit, I could really smell the smoke on them. It made me sick. Steve said I never smelled like smoke. I think that's do to the fact that I hated smoke coming toward me so I always smoked in a special way.
It does get hard at times like right after a big meal. That's the worst. Oh well, so far so good!
Friday Steve & Romeo got very very drunk. It was quite boring for myself and Bri though. Two prego women around 2 drunk men is sooo dull. Well, one thing led to another and my brother ended up with a mohawk. Nothing good ever happens after 2am. HAHA!
We went to DC for a little while and snapped a few photos. It was exactly beautiful out so we went home. I did find some killer parking directly in front of the Washington Monument. SWEEEET!
I've come to the sad/painful/terrible conclusion that I have to adopt out my 4 beardies. I'll most likely not be home or either up stairs hiding. I don't need someone to see me cry like a little baby. Watching my two males leave will be the hardest. I've had them since they were tiny little babies. Over 2 years now I've had them. This decision is based on the fact that I'm going to have another child at the end of the year. We will most likely move into base housing since Steve is going to take PCS orders. It's just that we won't have a lot of room for 2 adults, 2 children, 4 bearded dragons (females in a 50 gallon breeder & the males are in a 100 gallon tank) & a parrot. That and with the new baby, I won't have a lot of free time to care for everyone. So because of this, I'm worried about Gilligan. I'll be spending a lot of time with the new baby and he'll get lonely. It shouldn't be too bad though. I can at least let him out of his cage to play. One good thing is that he doesn't mind spending time in his cage. I really want to be selfish and keep my beardies, but I have to do what is best for them. *cries*
Oh, I'm sooo excited. I've had the book for over a year and finally started reading it on Saturday. I'm half way through it already. I just love it. Oh yeah, the book. :p 'Eragon' It will be out in June this year. I can't wait! I picked up the second book, 'Eldest', in the trilogy which I'll most likely start reading this weekend. The third, 'Empire', won't be out until fall of this year. Oh happy day.
Thu, Mar. 30th, 2006, 01:39 pm Happy News!
Well after a few months of trying, I'm finally pregnant! :D I took a home test Monday and it came out positive. But yesterday I went to the doctor for an actual test. What a crazy day. ( Story + first baby photo )
Thu, Mar. 30th, 2006, 01:23 pm Disney World
We got to our resort at about 3pm on Monday. Boy, that was a rough drive. I was still feeling crappy so Steve drove the entire way. He's such a sweetie pie. The resort was gorgeous! They had all kinds of shopping and restaurants there. Our room faced the Mickey Mouse shaped pool. The 2 PGA golf courses that were surrounding it was GORGEOUS! Steve was kicking himself for not bringing his clubs. He could have played on a PGA course for $10. HAHA! Well, here we go. We went to: ( Entire story here )
WOO HOO! I've never ever been there before. This should be loads of fun! We're staying at a resort from the 20th to the 24th. It's on a PGA golf course. At first Steve said he wasn't going to bring his clubs....he's changed his mind. :p
We're getting into Sea World and Universal Studios for free so that's cool. (One day free at SW for military and Steve's friend works at Universal.)
We're going to go to the Animal Kingdom and go on the safari ride. I can't wait for that one!
In other news.
My mom is doing grand. Her hair is starting to grow back. :D She's got about 16 radiation treatments left and then she's done.
Well, hubby calls and says, "What do you say we go out and eat at Sakura tonight. I agreed because I totally love that place. I asked him if it was just going to be the 3 of us and he said yes. Then, he started to question me. Him: Honey, what month is this? Me: ummm, February Him: What day is it? Me: Oh come on! I know it's Wednesday! Him: No sweetie, what date? Me: The 22nd. Oooo, that stuff you ordered on Ebay is coming in today. Him: Yeah, but what else is happening today? Me: OMG! Happy Anniversary honey! Him: Happy Anniversary baby! Yeah, from this point I started laughing and he started laughing. I totally forgot today was our 4 Year Anniversary! :D He said I'm the only woman in the world that doesn't remember things like this. What can I say, I take after my mom.
Fri, Feb. 17th, 2006, 11:36 pm Formal Post
My little baby Gilligan, the Sun Conure, turned 1 year old on February 1st!!!! I feel so bad too....I forgot. :( (My mom's been sick, breast cancer, and I've devoted all my time to her.) BUT, as a grrrreat gift I bought a cage for him. It wasn't one of the ones I posted about earlier in parrot_lovers. It's a dome top, 40 x 30 x 69 with 3/4 inch bar spacing. He'll love it! I can't wait for it to arrive!!!! SO, HAPPY BELATED HATCH DAY GILLIGAN!!!! -x posted- Tue, Dec. 13th, 2005, 11:53 am ROFL
Hubby is at a bar celebrating his football teams championship win. (That's fine, he wanted to continue playing but breaking his foot hindered that....and the Marine Corps Marathon.)
He was supposed to be home around 8pm.
At about 9:45 I get a call from his LT. Colonel telling me it's all his fault that he's out this late.
This proves it, men fear their wives.
LOL
***For those that don't know, Lt. Colonel is 2 ranks away from being a USMC General***
Sad....very very sad. He was wasted while he was talking to me too. So amusing!
*Wonders* What will she do with all this power?
MUAH HA HA! Wed, Nov. 2nd, 2005, 04:28 pm Moving
(Started this post on the 2nd.....finishing on the 7th) Well, after one of our vehicles was vandalized and the other hit, we decided it's time to move. What happened you ask?! Chevy Tahoe - keyed down both sides and came along with a lovely message "you suck" Chevy Silverado - someone hit the driver side at the end. Nothing major....still BAD! Maybe we're just asking for it by having 2 large vehicles? No, I think not. So, I made a list of 3 places that I wanted to see and we set out today. The first place was instant love. The back yard is huge (room for Jaylin to run) and the yard is gorgeous. This sold us instantly! There are 3 trees in the backyard: apple, plum & peach. BUT, they are still small. So I shouldn't have a major problem with my phobia (caterpillars) crawling around on them. We went and looked at another house on my list in the neighborhood while the owner drove up to the area to unlock the storm door. OMG! BOOOO! Horrible horrible horrible! I can't even begin to describe the extreme BLAH of the carpet and the walls were mint green. The basement was completely finished and awesome...except for the little problem. MOLD! It was starting to grow up one wall. NO WAY! So we headed back to the other house. The owner showed up about 15 minutes later. I can't begin to describe it. But, the basic list: 3 bedrooms (master is HUGE...could be 2 rooms) 2 1/2 baths (master has a soaking tub & separate shower) 2 fireplaces (one in the front room & one in the dining room) large kitchen A loft looking down on the sitting room Well, that's the basics. I'll post pics soon. Thursday I paid the deposit and the app. fee. Saturday we signed the lease and paid the first months rent. $1800....not bad for the area. Here's a pic of the outside for now. Well, we move in this Friday. EEEEE! So excited...and yet not. I hate moving.
Thu, Oct. 13th, 2005, 01:04 am Heart broken
Like I normally do I went over to my betta to say hello and found him dead. He's lived for nearly 3 years and had one rough experience. (My son knocked his vase onto the floor shattering it.) He lived, but wasn't the same since. I wanted to bury him but my husband convinced me to flush him. I was fine until about 5 minutes after that, then I started crying. Steve tells me, "Honey, it's just a stupid fish. This time I'll buy you a red one." I don't think he was just a stupid fish. He was my "Big Blue" and I loved him and I'll miss him. Just because he was a fish doesn't make him any less of a loved pet. I'll miss you Big Blue! R.I.P.!
Thu, Sep. 15th, 2005, 05:49 pm ............
I just received the worst news ever. My moms cancer has spread and they are going to have to remove her breast. I can't stop crying. She promised God would look over her and he didn't. He's screwed her over twice. WHY! WHY MY MOM?! SHE'S THE MOST AMAZING WOMAN IN THE WORLD!!!! After her first surgery they said her lymph nodes were clear....now they are covered in cancer. It's spreading and that scares the shit out of me. All I want to do right now is scream. I don't want to lose my mom. I don't know what I would do with myself if I did. It's so hard to type this with tears in my eyes. I can barely breathe. My head hurts.
Wed, Sep. 7th, 2005, 01:44 pm BOOO!
Hubby called and said that the ROWS system will be back up, most likely, some time today. BUT, he won't be coming home until Friday or Monday. They don't want him to fly back today and have it crash again. Then he'll have to fly BACK out there. ARGH, this sucks.
Tue, Sep. 6th, 2005, 07:59 pm Today SUCKS!
I had to take hubby to the airport today. He's going to be in Kansas City from today to whenever. The order writing system, located in New Orleans, is down so they have to write orders in KC for now. Once it's back up and running he'll return to me here. STUPID HURRICANE KATRINA! ;p Well, I've got a few things to add here since I haven't written in here in a LONG time. My mom has breast cancer. She had surgery on the 1st and so far everything is going great. She starts radiation soon....fun. :( In August we went canoeing twice. We canoed down the Shenandoah River. Scary at first and then LOTS of fun! 8 MILES BABY!!!! The first time we went we "camped". I say "camped" because we stayed in a cabin. I'll be damned if I'm sleeping in a tent when there's the option of a/c and electricity. LOL The second time we went we stayed in a hotel. Around the 15th of this month I'll be heading down to NC because Bri is coming back with my nephew Romeo. Again she's going there with plans to stay forever...but we shall see how that goes. Well, that's pretty much it. I'll be posting pics of our trip here in a bit. I have more pics on a disposable which I haven't developed yet so those will have to wait till later. P.S.- If anything doesn't make sense or my grammar is waaaay off, forgive me. I went to bed after 2 this morning and got up at 7 to take hubby to the airport. I'M EXHAUSTED!!!!

1. Go here. 2. Pass it on. ( my answers )
I took this photo while I was sitting outside watching the clouds. Do you see what I see? Turn your head slightly to the right and stare at the clouds on the left. I detailed the pic here...if you didn't see it. :)
Wed, Jun. 29th, 2005, 05:50 pm Knocking
My Sun has started "knocking". He did it one night after I was done giving him scritches. He kept pushing his head up against my hand and when I wouldn't show him attention he started knocking on the computer desk. LOL He even bobs his head too. It's so silly. Right now he's in his cage and since I'm not paying attention to him he's making baby noises, bobbing his head and knocking on the cage. So cute!
Lately he has gotten REALLY jealous of my mouse and keyboard. Whenever I have my hand on the mouse he climbs on my hand and starts biting (gently). If I'm typing, he'll grab one of my fingers and try and pull my hand off the keyboard. ;p Mon, Jun. 27th, 2005, 11:30 pm Wow
I didn't think the pictures I showed were going to cause this big debate. I'm sorry :(****
Let me clear one thing up. Not all of the birds pictured are for sale. The top 3 I can think of off the top of my head:
The Hyacinth's The Palm Cockatoo The Moluccan "Felix"
Those are owned by the owners of the store. Not for sale by any means.
As for the breeding of the Hyacinth's, it's not casual. They're just giving them the chance if they wish to do so I suppose. They are on CITES endangered list. (From what I've seen in my book.) I'm sure they don't mean it in a casual way. They don't breed any of their parrots. They buy them from a breeder and sell them.
Over crowding in the store, I don't think that's possible. It's basically a 2 story warehouse and all the birds are in big cages. (They've also leased the building connected behind them...there is TONS of space.) =D They would never put 30 parakeets in a tiny little cage. (Like some pet stores *blah*) They'd rather give their birds tons of space. The Macaws are let out often in intervals to stretch out and get some play time with one another. As an employee there, I usually stay after I get off to spend time with the birds. They get scritches, cuddles and love from me all the time. You've got to admit though, if you had over say, 100 birds, you wouldn't be able to give them all the attention in the world every day either. No matter how hard you tried. The owners absolutely love their birds....more than people I have noticed. ;p
I should never have posted about that birds partner possibly having "wasting disease". I was told that by a co-worker and should have relied on information from the owners instead of her. She is still in the learning process as I am myself.
I am in no means trying to defend this store. For one thing, I'm only an employee there. Two, it's not my store. I do plan on finding everything out about that bird this Saturday.
I wasn't trying to impress anyone here either. I just wanted to share pictures of all these lovely creatures. They are all well cared for and loved by all. I spend my Saturday's and Sunday's cleaning cages thoroughly and caring for the birds. (No matter how hard I work at cleaning...they always manage to mess it up again the next day. ;p)
I know that no one meant to direct their comments toward me, but that's sorta how it felt. :)
I'm starting to wonder about this disease though. Isn't it possible, since it's so contagious, that everyone's bird has it? Just wondering. I mean, you never know if the breeder you bought your bird off of has a bird that carries the disease.
Well, I suppose that's all I have for now. It's really late and I should be heading to bed now. I didn't mean to scare anyone or anger anyone. I was just trying to share. :)
